Pinotage is a grape variety that originated in South Africa in 1925 from a unique cross between Pinot Noir and Hermitage (or Cinsaut). The father of Pinotage was Abraham Izak Perold, a university professor and winemaker who sought the best resistance to the dry summers of the Western Cape region of South Africa.
Kadette Pinotage Rosé presents itself with a delicate pale pink color. The nose gives aromas of sweet melon, cotton candy and summer berries. The acidity is fresh and bright and complements the sweet fruit character of the Pinotage variety.

The palate presents intense flavors of red cherries, melon, strawberries and raspberries. The delicate nature of this wine makes it suitable for any occasion.
Ideal served chilled between 8° C and 10° ̊C.
Expected evolution: Kadette Pinotage Rosé will give its best in the first 3 years after bottling.

Pairings: Kadette Pinotage Rosé perfectly accompanies grilled salmon or tuna, sushi, quiches and roast chicken.

In the vineyard

A cold and wet winter with cool temperatures. Early-ripening Pinotage was not affected by late harvest rains.
Vineyards are grown in clay soils, locally referred to as “Hutton.” Grape varieties from 5 to 15 years old. Average production was 8 tons/ha.

In the cellar

After the harvest, the grapes are destemmed in a Bucher press immediately after harvesting. The must is dry fermented at a temperature of about 13 ° and then kept on the lees for 3 months, before being bottled.
