Collection: Andile Dyalvane | Imiso Ceramics

Cape Best presents Andile Dyalvane in Milan, an artist who blends his ethnic background with an accurate design and production technique.

Artist and craftsman, and founder of Imiso Ceramics, Andile stands out for a sign that characterizes many of his works: scarification, an engraving on ceramics and a religious symbol of positivity used by the Xhosa ethnic group to which the artist belongs.

Color completes Andile's creative message, with warm and always calibrated shades, to obtain a sophisticated final effect with great emotional impact. Andile is recognized for his genius ... "There's work of pure genius here; Andile Dyalvane is one of the seriously talented kiln operators turning out fine items you can use or display. Either way, your home will never be the same again" - Frommer's Review.

Named Designer of the Year 2018 at the 100% Design exhibition - the largest design event held in South Africa - Andile Dyalvane, an internationally appreciated artist, has created a collection of 100 exclusive one-off pieces to honor the award received, the iindonga Bowls.
The works are inspired by the colors and characteristics of his homeland, the Eastern Cape, by the immense expanses of land that seem to get lost in the infinite ocean. The bowls enhance the elements of the universe: Air, Water, Fire, Earth, Moon, ... The trait of "scarification" is always present in Andile's work, a religious symbol of positivity used by the Xhosa ethnic group to which the artist belongs: the ceramic is engraved with a soft line that reveals the interior of the material.
