South African Wine Festival \\ Vol. 1
Cape Best presents the first South African Wine Festival in Italy, in Milan.
June 4 and 5, 2026, two days dedicated to discovering South African wines.
On June 4 and 5, 2026, Cape Best presents The South African Wine Festival, the first event in Italy dedicated exclusively to the discovery of South African wines. Tastings, meetings, and territorial narratives will take place at the Cape Best showroom in Milan.

The Festival is a natural evolution of the work Cape Best has been carrying out since 2008: not just selecting, importing, and commercializing South African wines, but also storytelling, one-to-one tastings, and direct interaction with industry professionals, who have chosen Cape Best for years as their specialized partner to discover South African wine in Italy.
With this event, Cape Best brings that same experience to a more collective dimension, gathering 12 selected South African labels in a single occasion, representing different territories, styles, and stories.
The theme: Terroir before the winery
The theme of this edition is "Terroir before the winery": an invitation to look at South African wine starting from what makes it recognizable β soils, winds, exposures, climate, micro-zones, and production traditions. These elements in the Western Cape contribute to defining diverse wines, capable of precisely expressing the territory they come from.
During the two days, it will be possible to taste the selection curated by Cape Best, delve into stories, production areas, wineries, and grape varieties, and learn more about the research that accompanies each label.
The format will be lean and direct, close to the spirit of tastings organized by South African winemakers: a moment of meeting, tasting, and storytelling, with an absolute protagonist, the wine.
June 4, 2026 | Press and professionals day
Thursday, June 4, will be dedicated to press, content creators, and industry professionals: restaurateurs, sommeliers, buyers, Ho.Re.Ca. operators, and professionals interested in exploring the potential of South African wines in the Italian market.
Access is by invitation and accreditation only.

June 5, 2026 | Day open to the public
On Friday, June 5, the Festival will open to the public with a tasting experience designed for enthusiasts and curious individuals interested in discovering South African wine through an accessible, curated, and narrative journey.
Admission will be by mandatory registration and reserved for those over 18 years of age.
Cape Best's vision
βWe have been going to South Africa since 2008 to select wines, meet producers, and build direct relationships with wineries. Last March, returning to the Western Cape, we once again felt how South African wine begins before the tasting: in the wind, in the smells, in the sounds of the cellar, in the harsh temperatures, in the living matter of the places. Itβs something that reaches the skin even before the glass.
With this Festival, Cape Best wants to bring a part of that sensation to Milan, giving collective form to work that we have shared for years with industry professionals. At the center will be a selection of 12 chosen labels, 12 different ways of telling the story of wine from South Africa.β
