Reclaimed metal frame - Rectangular with mirror

Mark Hilltout recovers old corrugated sheets in the townships, where they served as roofs or load-bearing structures for homes. The metal is taken to his studio where an initial cleaning job takes place and the frames are then assembled.

The history of each piece of sheet metal, with its carvings, splinters, stains and burns is unique: combining them and working with them is a continuous stimulus for the artist to create real works of design.

Each frame is a unique piece, handmade by the artist. For this reason I may be irregular and/or imprecise. These uniquenesses represent the added value of the products.
