Cabernet Franc - Anthonij Rupert
Varietal: Cabernet Franc 100%.
On the nose, Anthonij Rupert's Cabernet Franc presents seductive notes of cocoa, spices, graphite, and dried fruit. The palate echoes these rich aromas of dark chocolate, dried fruit, and cedar, along with hints of tomato.
The wine has an enveloping and comforting texture. It is long, elegant, and refined, with dry, fine tannins that demonstrate good use of oak. It is composed and structurally sound, with none of the layered elements prevailing over the others. On the finish, the blackberry fruit is ripe and succulent. An excellent vintage that will improve with age.
Pair with: Meat, game, spicy dishes and aged cheese.
Serving temperature: 18° C.
YIELD: 8ton/ha.
Cap: Cork | Alc 13,5% | PH: 3.58 | RS: 2.0 g/l | TA: 5.3 g/l.

In the vineyard
The grapes selected for Cabernet Franc come from the L'Ormarins estate in Franschhoek. The vines are planted on specific sites, with decomposed granite soil, selected as the most suitable to produce the best grapes for Cabernet Franc.
In the cellar
In the cellar
The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the winery in refrigerated vans. In the cellar, the grapes are selected by an optical sorter, capable of identifying only the best quality bunches, and then placed in French fermentation barrels. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally. The wine finally matures in 225 liter French oak barrels (60% new) for 18/24 months. This is followed by bottling and refinement for 3 years before marketing this South African Cabernet Franc.
