Collection: Saronsberg wine estate
Under the Cape Best brand, we are the official importers for Italy of the South African winery Saronsberg.
The Tulbagh Basin, where Saronsberg's soils extend, is surrounded by the Obiqua Mountains to the west, Winterhoek Mountain to the north and the Witzenberg Mountains to the east, whose peaks exceed 1,500 meters. The microclimate is temperate, with characteristics similar to the Mediterranean climate. The soils are rich in clay.
Despite its relatively recent establishment, Saronsberg quickly gained a reputation for its high-quality wines, winning awards in competitions such as the Veritas Wine Awards and earning high marks from international critics such as Tim Atkin and Platter's Wine Guide.
Today, Saronsberg's reference varietal is Shiraz. Saronsberg stands out not only for the quality of its wines and its Shiraz, but also for its holistic approach that combines art, architecture, sustainability and hospitality.
Ultimately, we chose to work with Saronsberg because it is a South African winery very committed to sustainable farming practices and environmental conservation. It uses environmentally friendly viticulture techniques and promotes biodiversity within the estate.
