Kadette Pinotage - Kanonkop Wine Estate
Varietal: Pinotage 100%.
On the nose, Kadette Pinotage presents deep aromas of cherry, plum, strawberry, vanilla and cinnamon. On the palate, flavours of raspberries, plums, cranberries and milk chocolate are revealed, with layers of spice. Medium-bodied with refreshing and balanced acidity, finely structured tannins and a long, satisfying finish.
Table pairings: Kadette Pinotage 2022 pairs grandly with beloved pizza, as well as pasta or red meat dishes, as well as spicy dishes.

The vineyards are 8 to 23 years old and are cultivated in clay soils, locally referred to as “Hutton.” Kanonkop Kadette Pinotage production averages 6-7 tons/ha.
In the cellar
In the cellar
Fermentation takes place in open concrete tanks at a temperature of about 28 °. The grapes are left to macerate on the skins for 3 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for 12 months in second and third use 225 L Nevers French oak barriques. Bottling and refinement of a few months before release follows.
