In 1971, with Kaapse Vonkel, Frans Malan - the founder of the Simonsig wine estate - became the first producer of Méthode Cap Classique in South Africa.

This Blanc de Blancs from Simonsig has a pale straw color and an exceptionally fine perlage. Lemon and lime blossom aromas are complemented by hazelnut, apple and freshly baked bread flavors. A delicate and firm palate accentuates these aromas and offers additional minerality and complexity. The splendid acidity of this South African classic method lends extraordinary length to this prestigious cuvée.

Food pairings: Excellent on its own, it pairs perfectly with all seafood dishes , with red fruit salads or any other light dessert .

In the vineyard

Only the finest Chardonnay grapes grown on the finest soils in Stellenbosch are hand-selected to produce this extraordinary Simonsig Blanc de Blancs.

In the cellar

A gentle whole-bunch pressing produces only the finest cuvée.
The first fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to ensure the original freshness and aroma. No malolactic fermentation occurs. The wine is bottled to complete the second fermentation in the bottle and aged on the lees for at least 3 years.
