Timepiece Chenin Blanc - Jordan

Varietal: Chenin Blanc 100%.

Timepiece is Jordan's innovative new range of wines celebrating the family's heritage. These are bottlings from the oldest vineyards on the wine estate, planted by founder Ted Jordan and certified as “Heritage Vineyards” by the Old Vine Project.

The four cardinal points depicted on the packaging are located at different elevations on Jordan's hillsides. The Timepiece logo is handwritten by Ted Jordan, a sign of his eternal influence on Jordan Wine Estate's identity.

100% Chenin Blanc. Certified Heritage Vineyards: grapes come from historic 40-year-old vineyards.

In the glass it presents fascinating and instrospective aromas of angelica, apple quince and berries. The clarity of the fruit on the crystal clear palate is supported by bright acidity and a savory, ethereal finish.

Pairings: Lean fish, sweet cheeses and lightly spicy.

Wine of Origin Stellenbosch, South Africa.

In the vineyard

The vineyards are located 220 meters above sea level and enjoy very favorable climatic conditions thanks to the Atlantic breezes from False Bay and their southern exposure.
Harvest: February 23, 2022.
Soil: decomposed granite and loam.

In the cellar

75% is fermented in 228l French oak barrels and 25% in 400l Italian clay amphorae for a period of 9 months. The amphora has the natural ability to keep the pomace in constant suspension during fermentation.
The must is then matured “sur-lie” for 9 months, with occasional punching down.
No sulfide is added during winemaking, but only with bottling.
